We are so excited to finally have a low cost spay/neuter option for Madison County!
Thanks to Bissell Pet Foundation's Fix the Future initiative, Fido Fixers, the hard work from the staff at Good Shepherd Humane Society, local veterinarians and vet techs, and our own staff and volunteers, we are able to have these clinics 2-3 times a month.
Most of our clinics are at the Madison County Fairgrounds. We are able to put on clinics in other towns in Madison County but we would need some committed volunteers to help find/fund locations, provide lunch, have back up animals available (in case of no shows), and get things set up and cleaned up.

- There is limited availability and registration is first come/first served. The $25 fee is due during registration. If even $25 is out of reach, please call us.
- Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes. If you bring a crate for your dog, that can be helpful too.
- If our locations do not show up as an option for that date after you have entered your pet's weight and sex, it means we are full for that size and sex (dogs will probably fill up quickly).
- If you register for the package called Complete Dog/Cat Care, it includes rabies, DHPP or FVRCP and the surgery for $25. If your pet does not need a Rabies vaccine, please bring proof to the clinic with you.
- Kittens must weigh 2 pounds, puppies must be 8 weeks and 3 pounds. These clinics are not prepared to fix animals older than 7 years or brachycephalic (snub nose) dogs or dogs over 75 pounds.
How can you help?
- Volunteer: We are usually at the clinic site from 7-4 or later, you do not need to stay all day. You could also help by taking home a load of laundry, or picking up lunch.
- Pick up your animals as soon as possible, we still have a lot to do after all the animals leave.
- Donate money: $25 covers the surgery, rabies, and basic vaccine. At most clinics we cover the cost of 3-7 surgeries, and we feel strongly this is an important service to provide to stop unwanted puppies and kittens from ending up in our shelter. Your donations make it possible for us to continue to provide this.
- Donate supplies: During these long days it can be difficult to leave for lunch. We are also contracted to provide lunch for our clinic staff. Drinks, bottled water, and snacks are very helpful. Sandwich supplies, or money for pizza is very appreciated too. Cleaning supplies and food items are on our clinic wish list. If you are a restaurant that would like to donate lunch, please let us know.
- Thank and support the businesses and organizations that have supported us. For letting us use their facilities: Madison County Fairgrounds, St. Paul Schools, Hindsville Fire Department, First Baptist Church. Restaurants that have donated lunch to us: Crooked Rooster, Milner's BBQ, Huntsville Pantry, Granny's Kitchen, and Combs Store.
